Hope you are winding down well this Friday evening 😊😊.
New members: welcome again! This is our warm and cosy member community where we discuss all matters related to our weekly harvest- please feel free to post any comments, feedback, questions, recipes and pictures of how u plan and cook our veggies.
We are looking forward to our Nasi Ulam making AND eating session together tomorrow! OptiMUM Lily instructions: For those who come earlier to help, pls bring a knife and chopping board to help at around 10am! For those eating, come around 12+ 😋
Despite 4 straight days of rain, our harvest this week remains strong. We are a little worried about next week's leafy greens, but hopefully the sun comes out more often and they don't get too drenched 😊
Everyone will be getting extra Luffa gourd and lettuce this week! 😊😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Shifu and our workers were very careful harvesting the veggies this week- because of the rain, more than 30% of the veggies that had the slightest hint of rotting were removed... hopefully none made it through to you.. it's really not easy to detect when harvesting in the rain (see photos)... much gratitude to them💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Shifu is very happy with the radish harvest this week- he washed almost every single one of them (ignored me when I suggested giving everyone with the mud still on haha) 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😊😊😊 They are getting bigger, with the leaves more and more healthy. He mentioned a story of radish leaves many years ago- last time, when he used to sell vegetables in the market, a famous Chinese DJ 东方比利 announced that he was taking lots of radish leaves to battle his cancer, suddenly lots of aunties came to him asking for radish leaves instead of the radish! It was a funny memory and he remembered how confused he was before he found out about the DJ announcement 😋.
Holding a radish in his hand, Shifu wants everyone to know that the leaves are even more nutritious than the root itself, so don't throw them away! Here's an article that explains Shifu's point:
